Arrangement

A closer look at the flowers

This latest offering is a flower arrangement rooted in traditional quilling – how I used to make them when I first learned to make florals. I get lost in the creation of this flowers, as I do tend to make them on impulse, with very little planning. I like the little accidents and ‘found spaces’ once I arrange them together. For this one, I thought I’d include a rose that I’ve ‘folded’ in a more freestyle kind of origami. The background and frame for this work was painted in that anthocyanin mix I’ve created last year. I still have not tired of this colour. It has a warmth to it. The vase or basket (depending on how one looks at the patterns) was also spontaneously worked, and I must say, I like how it turned out.
